Carry out and review Risk Assessments in liaison with other parties as required under the guidance of the Health and Safety Manager
Assist production in identifying any specialist tools/equipment required ensuring compliance with current legislation (e.g. jigs, fixtures, etc)
Audits (as required)
Liaise and assist Engineering Department with prototypes. Make recommendations as necessary.
Assist in the smooth and timely introduction of project into full volume production
Set-up and allocate external resource to support maintenance of plant, equipment, services and premises as and when required
Support the manufacturing function as and when required
In conjunction with Departmental Supervisors -
Ensure new plant and equipment are specified and supplied
Supervise subcontractors whilst on site
General daily maintenance of building and facilities, internal and external
Maintain plant and equipment (both under a PM schedule and breakdowns)
Maintain housekeeping in appropriate work areas
Compulsory: Time-served formal engineering craft apprenticeship
Ideally: Have some electrical as well as a mechanical background
Health and safety knowledge/understanding
Skills and Ability:
Desirable: FLT driver, Electrical maintenance/installation,
Experience:
- At least 2 years proven record in a similar role
Must have:
Good organisational skills
Communicate effectively with people both within the organisation and contractors
